Hi Melinda,

I think I will put together a spreadsheet soon that compares all of this. It seems like that would be something that a lot of people want to see. So thank you so much for letting me know what you would want to see, it helps me make the posts better.

I know its a pain to upload your artwork to multiple marketplaces, but at the end of the day, it is more exposure. Both with the chosen marketplace’s audience and even Google picking up those product listings. It may be worth the time to add to more than 1-2 POD marketplaces, since you only have to add your products once. Once you add them, it is done. You can them let them passively make you income.

However, I totally get where you are coming from, and not wanting to spend all that time adding your designs to many marketplaces that may not perform. It seems like having a spreadsheet that breaks down all the profit margin per product for all the POD sites would be awesome. So I will start working on that soon!

I have found a couple that compare two or three – but only for tshirt sales :-/

I have had FineArtAmerica & Redbubble stores for many years, originally as strictly passive income, but since I had to be medically retired from my 8-5 job I have been looking to expand my offerings. But I don’t want to put all that effort into setting up a new store if it only offers duplicate items at a reduced profit margin.

Thanks for the info in your article though, it’s given me a good start.

Comment on Best Types Of Used Books To Sell On Amazon: Advice For New Booksellers by Jeff Bowdoin https://fbafaq.com/best-books-sell-amazon/#comment-372 Fri, 19 Jul 2019 19:14:54 +0000 https://fbafaq.com/best-books-sell-amazon/#comment-372 In reply to Frank Thibault.

Wow, that’s great! Thanks for the tip, Frank. I have never personally done anything like that. Do you have any advice for anyone else that may be interested – how do you establish a relationship with your library like that? Do you just start a dialogue with them and inquire if they need someone to take their surplus of books?

In my area, they typically have continual book sales and bigger sales once every few months or so depending on the library. I doubt most of the libraries near me would give away a lot of books since they are always selling them. But who knows, they could just have an overabundance and donate many that I am not aware of. I’ll need to look into that.

I’m also curious if the books they give for free are only books that are first scouted by other booksellers/ general community after their sales? Do you feel like you get a lot of valuable books out of the lots?

Either way that sounds like an excellent way to source books, thanks again for telling us about that tip!

From 1 library I picked up 160 boxes of books, that’s 1 year of discarding books, now they won’t have to save them like that anymore , they will call us.

Thanks again

Comment on How you can make a full time income selling on amazon? by Austin https://fbafaq.com/full-time-income-amazon/#comment-66 Tue, 25 Jun 2019 23:48:30 +0000 https://fbafaq.com/full-time-income-amazon/#comment-66 How viable do you think it is in 2019, based on the numbers you suggest (100 books a week for 3k, 200 books a week for 5k)? I have similar goals as a side income, and I’m building inventory right now but I’m new to this so I want to make sure my weekly/monthly goals are sufficient.

Hey Joel, thanks for the question. Not at the moment, but I may be selling the scanners again in the near future. In the meantime, you can checkout ebay for used scanners. Just make sure to do your due diligence to make sure the items are in good working order!
